Air Quality Stakeholders,

 

Save the date for the Sixth Annual Unifour Air Quality Conference on Friday, June 15, 2012.  Conference registration is now underway.  Please read the save the date flyer below for more information.  There is no registration fee to attend, but we are asking all interested persons to register for the conference.     

 

Air quality is important to economic and human health. Come share in an open exchange of information and ideas to improve air quality in the Unifour Region.  This year’s conference will cover a number of topics including:  Alternative Fuels and Electric Vehicles, Mercury Emissions—Regulations and Impacts, Agriburbia, Congestion Management Options to Improve Air Quality, Benefits of Energy Assessments and Sustainability, Climate and Emergency Planning.

  

For the first time, the conference will have special teachers only sessions.  Environmental educators from the following organizations will share resources for CE Credits:  NC Office of EE, NC DAQ Air Awareness Program, USEPA, and the Alliance for Climate Change Education.

The conference will begin at the Lenoir-Rhyne University campus in Hickory, NC in the Belk Centrum.   Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. Conference proceedings will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m.  A complementary lunch will be provided.

This event is sponsored by the Unifour Air Quality Committee, the Western Piedmont Council of Governments, the Greater Hickory Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and NC DAQ Air Awareness.  Special thanks to Lenoir-Rhyne’s Reese Institute for Conservation of Natural Resources for hosting the conference.
