 ative, a leader in sustainability education programs, and Farr Associ
 ates, one of the nation’s foremost ecologically-minded architecture 
 and design firms present “Focus on Sustainable Urbanism,” a ten-da
 y intensive that explores sustainable infrastructure, livable communit
 y design, smart growth, and the public realm.  Participants will lear
 n from field visits, lectures, discussions, and hands-on studio projec
 ts with national expert Doug Farr, author of the groundbreaking book 
 Sustainable Urbanism and founding chair of the USBGC LEED for Neighb
 orhood Development (LEED-ND) Core Committee.\n \nThe Focus on Susta
 inable Urbanism program offers participants a rare opportunity to lea
 rn from leading practitioners, envision a public housing redevelopment
  project, and understand how sustainable urbanism principles can be sc
 aled to solve complex urban social and environmental problems.\n \nTh
 e program is ideal for (but not limited to) graduate students and prof
 essionals in the fields of architecture, planning, design, and public 
 policy. Exceptions will be made for participants who are not from thes
 e backgrounds but express a deep interest in learning about how sustai
 nable urbanism brings together the value of connectivity, density, and
  building performance.\n \nA small group of up to 16 individuals will
