Highlighting Molecular Strategies in Modern Biodiversity and Forensic Sciences
Science in the Mountains is embarking on a new schedule for 2012 and beyond. Join us for the first workshop of the 2012 series, Molecules in the Mountains: Highlighting Molecular Strategies in Modern Biodiversity and Forensic Science, on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Western Carolina University. This workshop will highlight the progress of molecular methods used to assess biodiversity across a wide spectrum of genera and how research of diverse molecules advances science in many disciplines. The mountains of Western North Carolina are some of the most ancient on Earth and host unique biodiversity that rivals other global hotspots of species richness. Plant, insect, microbe, and salamander diversity are notable examples and these groups of organisms may contain novel gene products of basic and applied research interest. Attend this workshop to find out:
Molecules in the Mountains: Highlighting Molecular Strategies in Modern Biodiversity and Forensic Sciences will be of interest to regional biodiversity researchers, undergrad and graduate-level university students, as well as, professionals in forensic science-related fields. Please visit the Science in the Mountains conference website for more information. Regards, Kathy D.
