Description: Periodically, the various state and federal agencies that provide loans and grants to drinking water and wastewater utilities for infrastructure projects hold a Funders Fair. At these Fairs, staff from utilities that have identified infrastructure projects can come and present to a panel of the funders, and ask questions about which funding program is most likely to fund such a project. The direct interaction with the funding agencies' program managers is valuable to utility and municipal/county staff who are seeking funding assistance for their upcoming infrastructure projects.
It is very important to know that attendance and presentation at the Funders' Fair does not guarantee funding, and does not change any of the requirements you will have to meet when applying for funds. Further, the funding agencies will not be presenting about their programs. Please also note that this event is NOT part of the annual Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Funding Strategies workshop (January 19-20, 2011) at which the funding agencies will present descriptions of their programs, for which you must register separately here.
Indended Audience: Utility managers, Finance Directors or other utility or municipal/county staff who are prepared to give a short presentation on their proposed infrastructure project and have questions about where best to apply for loans or grants. Attendance is open for anyone who wants to sit and watch, but priority is given to the individuals who wish to present.
Funding Agency Panel: The following agencies have confirmed their attendance and participation in this Funders' Fair: USDA, Clean Water Management Trust Fund, Division of Community Assistance, Department of Commerce, and the Rural Economic Development Center. Invitations have also been extended to the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and Construction Loans and Grants' Clean Water State Revolving Fund program managers.
Registration Fee: Free.
Time, Location, Directions: The Fair will be held on Thursday January 20, 2011, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC.View the Friday Center's map and directions.
