as my position with the City of Raleigh is a grant funded temporary position, i am always seeking future job opportunities in the sustainable energy and design fields. In addition to future career opportunities, I am always open to learn more about sustainable practices. It is important to be aware of the valuable resource we have in each other's knowledge especially in subjects they may be more practiced in.

Asheville Boasts First Large-Scale LED Street Light Deployment in North Carolina

DURHAM, N.C., January 23, 2012 — Taking steps to improve energy efficiency and reduce its overall carbon footprint, the City of Asheville has initiated North Carolina’s first large-scale deployment of LED street lights. There are 3,643 LEDway® street lights from Durham-based manufacturer Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE) being installed, with projected savings of $260,000 annually.

Henderson County schools recognized for energy efficiency

The Henderson County school district is getting high marks in energy efficiency this semester. Thirteen buildings from have earned ENERGY STAR labels this fall, after a thorough review from Morrisville-based Southern Energy Management (SEM). This weekend! NC Tax Free Energy Star Appliances

This Friday marks the start of tax free weekend on energy star appliances. This will run from Friday morning to Sunday evening and is applicable to most appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and the like that meet the federal government's Energy Star guidelines.

The tax exemption applies to items bought in stores or by mail, telephone or Internet. There is no limit or ceiling to the price of the appliance to qualify for tax-free status.…

All is well in Boone, NC at ASU. Building Science and Energy Efficiency studies are at an all time high. My current research involves renewable energy via gasification of wood waste. We are also investigating Green Roof Systems.
