Hendersonville's Kimberly-Clark Berkeley Mill manufacturing plant can now capture the sun's energy to power its operations thanks at a new solar panel project.

USPTO to Extend Green Patent Deadline

Ahead of a formal announcement, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a notice that it is expanding the eligibility of its Green Technology Pilot Program to include applications filed on or after December 8, 2009. WNC Sustainable Communities Initiative Recieves $1.6m Grant

USDA to host public meeting on the Renewable Fuels Report at AB Tech

Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a report outlining a strategy to meet the nation’s renewable fuel mandate. N.C. Utilities Commission expands renewable energy definition to include new timber

At their meeting this week, the NCUC ruled that energy from new timber feedstocks can be used in meeting the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards. Previously, the law only referred to "wood waste", and the clarification could expand the market opportunity for biomass energy projects.
