One millionth Prius Hybrid sold in the US

Toyota accompanied every dessert at its greeny-green Sustainable Mobility Seminar last night in La Jolla, Calif., with its own sweet news: a press release announcing it has just sold its 1 millionth Prius hybrid in the U.S.

The little first-generation Prius from 11 years ago didn't exactly come across as the car that would shake the world. It was a subcompact, econobox-looking car hatched into a world of cheap gasoline. But the next generation of Priuses was significantly improved.…

Saving Energy Pays off for Rowan-Salisbury Schools

SALISBURY — With the looming state and local budget cuts, school systems across North Carolina are looking for cost-savings wherever possible. Some have already found success and want to energize other school systems to take similar actions.
