BOC is a competency-based training and certification for building operators offering improved job skills and more comfortable, efficient facilities. The training helps building operators identify and implement energy savings opportunities as an integral part of their operation and maintenance activities. A-B Tech is the administrator of BOC in North Carolina, and is seeking qualified instructors for individual one-day and two-day classes in a variety of topics on building-related systems and equipment. Instructors are asked to use BOC-developed curriculum materials, administer BOC tests, and serve as a representative of the program during the course session. Participating NC community colleges provide reimbursement for instructional services at competitive rates. Opportunities to instruct in the BOC program range from two to ten classes a year offered across the State of North Carolina.

BOC 104 – Efficient Lighting Fundamentals
BOC 105 – Operation & Maintenance Practices for Sustainable Buildings

BOC 107 – Facility Electrical System

If you are interested in being considered for BOC instruction, please save, complete and submit the INSTRUCTOR APPLICATION linked at the bottom of this post. Upon pre-qualification as a BOC instructor, you will be invited to attend a two-day orientation session to familiarize you with the program objectives, role of instructors, and curriculum materials. The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) will have final authority over instructor approval. Only NEEC approved instructors are permitted to teach courses that qualify participants toward Building Operator Certification.
