A group of local business and government leaders also want to transform Western North Carolina's economy and make the region a hub for clean-energy investment. A new project launched this week will evaluate the region's green economy and find ways to generate jobs and attract investment in energy efficiency, sustainable building technologies, renewable energy and low-emission vehicles.
